Requirement for entry
visa
- All visitors entering into Timor-Leste are must possess a valid
entry visa for the purpose of his or her visit.
- Visitors arriving into Timor-Leste by air or sea transportation
may apply for an etnry visa upon their arrival at the sea or air
ports of Timor-Leste.
- Visitors traveling by land, with the exception of Indonesians
and nationals of European Union countries, are required to apply
for enty visa in advance of their arrival.
- Citizens of European Union member states, Iceland and
Switzerland are enttitled to visa-free entry into Timor-Leste by
any means of transportation.
Applying for a visa in advance
If a visitor is required to apply for a visa in advance his or her
arrival, application may be done at hrough th efollowing
steps:
1. Complete the visa application form, which can be donloaded
here.
2. Send the completed form by email to the Imigration Service of
Timor-Leste by attaching the following documents:
- Scanned copy of your passport bio-page;
- Scanned copy of ticket for departure (air, land or sea) or
other acceptable evidence of departure arrangements;
- Scanned copy of your bank statement or other acceptable
evidence that you have sufficient funds for your travel and holiday
in Timor-Leste.
- If your expenses are to be covered by a timorese host or a
third party, the scanned copy of a completed Sponsorship Form
(see the Forms page), along with a scanned copy of the National ID
Card (for a Timorese sponsor) or the scanned copy of the sponsor's
residency permint (for a foreigner third party sponsor).
- If your sponsor is not a citizen of Timor-Leste, you must
provide a copy of your sponsor’s passport as well as his/her
residency permit. If your sponsor is a citizen of Timor-Leste,
please provide a copy of his/her National Electoral
card.
